Laurel Rice Brightwell, a native of Shreveport, Louisiana, graduated from Louisiana State University in Shreveport with a Bachelor’s degree and obtained a Master’s degree from Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas.

Prior to joining U.L. Coleman Company, Ltd. in commercial leasing and brokerage, Laurel worked for WPP Group’s J. Walter Thompson Specialized Communications, Simon Property Group, and Harrah’s Casino. She also owned Gold Coast Skydivers Video Concession.

She brings a myriad of experience in marketing, advertising, sales, and public relations to the team. In 2013, she served as President of Northwest Louisiana Association of REALTORS® (NWLAR), Commercial Investment Division (CID), NWLAR Board of Directors, and Chairman of the Board for Louisiana Commercial Database. She was the 2009 & 2013 NWLAR Chairman of Commercial Realtor Day/Trends Conference, 2012 NWLAR Chairman Professional Development Committee, CID Board of Directors 2008-14, and 2014-15 Louisiana REALTORS® Commercial Chairman. Laurel is active in CCIM candidacy and the International Council of Shopping Centers since 2006. A Greater Shreveport Chamber of Commerce Leadership Program graduate and session planner, Laurel was then voted one of the Chamber’s Top 40 business professionals under 40 in Northwest Louisiana 2008 and Athena Award finalist 2011. She is an active participant in Rotary Club of Shreveport Board of Directors 2015, Junior League of Shreveport-Bossier Board of Directors Vice President 2015, Daughters of the American Revolution, and The Cotillion Club. In addition, she served on Alliance for Education Grant Committee 2008-13, Red River Revel Festival Production Committee 2012-13, City of Shreveport Economic Development Stakeholder Community Renewal International chairman, and helped pen the City of Shreveport and Caddo Parish 2030 Master Plan.
