Lea Stroud has joined U. L. Coleman Companies as the Director of Development and Legal. She is responsible for managing various business operations of the company, including business development, legal activities, contract negotiations, and vendor relations.
After graduation from St. Vincent’s Academy, Lea attended LSU-Baton Rouge for three years and received a Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics from Louisiana Tech University. She then took accounting courses at LSU-Shreveport in order to sit for the CPA exam. Lea earned her Juris Doctor of Law from Tulane University Law School in New Orleans in 1992.
Lea has worked as a computer programmer at Arkla Gas, a Staff Accountant at Cole, Evans, and Peterson, and as office manager for a large multi-physician practice. After attending law school, she joined the Tupelo, Mississipi office of Phelps Dunbar, LLP and worked primarily as a bond attorney. In 1995, she returned to Shreveport and became a Financial Consultant for A.G. Edwards and Sons, Inc. and obtained her Certified Financial Planner certification. Most recently Lea became an Adjunct Professor of Business Law and Assistant Dean of the Frost School of Business at Centenary College. Lea is active in the community, having done volunteer work for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and the American Heart Association, And currently serving as chairwoman of the Haughton Zoning Commission. Pursuant to her longtime passion for the arts Lea served on the Board of the Bossier Arts Council for many years and currently serves on the Executive Board of the Robinson Film Center.
