Shreveport, Louisiana – The U. L. Coleman Companies received national recognition by winning four awards for excellence in real estate management communications in the 2000 MACY (Marketing, Advertising, and Communications of the Year) Awards contest sponsored by IREM (The Institute of Real Estate Management).

The Company captured the following awards in the Small Properties category:

1. First Place for Lessee Manual for One Bellemead Centre in Category D, Manuals

2. First Place for Commercial Real Estate Review newsletter in Category C, Newsletters

3. Second Place for Web Site (www.ulcoleman.com) in Category E, Non-Print Advertising

4. Second Place for marketing brochure entitled "The Willows at Wright Island" in Category A, Brochures and Other Direct Promotions

Allison Copple, Director of Marketing for The U. L. Coleman Companies, represented the Company at the June 24, 2000 Awards Celebration in New Orleans. She stated: "These awards are the culmination of the efforts of Coleman associates who have been dedicated to ensuring that our marketing efforts reflect the standard of quality that is central to our company’s mission. We are honored that our marketing efforts have been recognized by IREM, the industry leader in real estate management education."

IREM sponsors the MACY Awards annually to honor excellence in the wide variety of marketing and communications materials developed by real estate managers to market the properties they manage. Entries are judged on the basis of content, creativity, design, audience appropriateness, and overall effectiveness. The awards are presented in five different categories, including brochures, print advertising, newsletters, manuals, and non-print advertising.

The Institute of Real Estate Management, an affiliate of the National Association of Realtors, is an association of more than 9,200 persons and 650 firms engaged in the fields of property management and asset management who have met stringent requirements in the areas of education, experience, and commitment to a code of ethics. Persons meeting these requirements receive the designation Certified Property Manager (CPM®). Management firms earn the designation Accredited Management Organization (AMO®). Founded in 1933 to further high standards of performance in the field of real estate management, IREM continues to promote professionalism by offering specialized real estate education to experienced practitioners as well as to newcomers in the field.
